For a fifteen to twenty-person editorial shoot we recommend at least five to six bedrooms — one for hair and make-up, one for wardrobe and styling, one for client changing, one for talent, plus a kit and producer room. Several of our villas run to nine or ten bedrooms, which solves both multi-talent fittings and dual-client shoots on the same day. Production use of the house is different from a standard villa stay: tripod marks on floors, rigs at windows, lighting flags in doorways, catering trucks on the drive. Only villas whose owners have operated through real shoot days end up on this list, and the owner agreement spells out which rooms are shoot-accessible, which are off-limits, and whether furniture can move.
Private villa photo shoots on Ibiza generally do not need a municipal permit — the owner agreement is the document that matters, not a Consell Insular licence. Permits do kick in for drones, road closures, blocked access to public areas or protected natural zones (Ses Salines, parts of the north coast). Coastal filming — beaches, jetties, cliff-base rocks — is routed through the Demarcación de Costas with at least ten days’ notice, and the Ibiza Film Commission helps scope the paperwork when larger productions route through it. Villas with private sea access solve most of the coastal-permit question; villas with private coves are particularly valuable for swim and resort campaigns where public-beach permits add friction. Yes — pool access is standard on every villa here, and most owners are comfortable with swim and resort editorial. A few considerations: filtration schedules may need adjusting the day before a beauty-heavy shoot so the surface is glassy; several villas allow a drain-and-refill ahead of white-swimwear work; and infinity-edge pools on cliff villas read best at mid-afternoon when the horizon line sits cleanest. It varies by villa. Some owners live off-site and hand over the keys for the shoot days; others stay in a guest house or caretaker’s wing on the estate; a small number prefer to remain in the main house. We flag the owner’s expected presence for every villa at shortlist stage, which matters for privacy-sensitive fittings, client VIPs, nude or intimate editorial work, and the general vibe of the day. Full owner-absent, whole-villa takeovers are available where the brief needs it.
Swimwear and lingerie editorial is standard on virtually every villa on this list — many were originally scouted for exactly that work. Nude and implied-nude work is handled case by case: we filter to villas where the owner has approved it in writing, and we only show you those options if the brief calls for it. Sharing the reference imagery or shot list early helps us shortlist honestly; there is no point putting forward a villa the owner would decline once the brief lands.
